There is more than one price question

The World of Anterra price depends on which product and sales channel you mean. The Steam page currently shows the game as unavailable and does not display a retail purchase price. The official BackerKit pre-order page does show named campaign offerings, so saying that no price appears anywhere would miss genuine public information.

These observations were checked on October 28, 2026. They establish what the reviewed pages display, without proving the final amount a particular checkout will charge or predicting a future storefront price. Currency conversion, regional Steam pricing, taxes, and any order-specific adjustments remain pending confirmation unless the actual checkout or an official regional announcement identifies them.

The named BackerKit offers currently displayed

The BackerKit page lists Lost Traveler – Digital Backer Edition at C$49.99 under pre-orders. It also lists Merlin's Loot Sack – BackerKit Edition at C$69.99 under extras, and a C$5.00 tip jar. These labels and amounts belong to the offers as presented, and should retain their Canadian-dollar context instead of being silently rewritten as United States dollars.

The visible names do not establish every item or entitlement in each package. This guide therefore does not invent bonus content, console choices, refund terms, or a guarantee that one named offer includes another. Before treating either as the right purchase for you, check the offer's actual details and checkout terms rather than choosing from a price-only summary.

Why those figures are not the Steam retail price

BackerKit is linked from the official game website and serves the project's campaign-related pre-order channel. Steam is a separate listing that currently offers a wishlist rather than a displayed purchase price. A genuine price on one channel cannot automatically establish another channel's eventual standard edition, launch discount, or regional price table.

The reviewed sources do not identify a Steam launch price or an Early Access price announcement. They also do not provide a confirmed price-change policy between Early Access and a completed release. Those points remain pending confirmation even if a backer offer looks like a plausible comparison, because similarity is not evidence that the products or sales terms are identical.

The itch.io payment concerns an art bundle

The developer's itch.io project offers a name-your-own-price teaser asset bundle. The package is described as concept art, a profile avatar, and desktop and mobile wallpaper. Its payment interface should therefore be read in the context of those promotional files rather than as the public price of the playable RPG.

An optional contribution on that page does not establish a full-game license or a backer-demo entitlement. Likewise, a way to obtain the art without paying does not mean World of Anterra has been announced as free-to-play. The download guide explains the file contents so that a price comparison does not accidentally compare artwork with a future game purchase.

Old campaign amounts describe a different period

The Kickstarter campaign ran from August 24 to September 23, 2022. It records a funding total and supporter count, but those aggregate figures are not the cost of one current copy. They should not be divided into an average and published as the game's retail price, because campaign pledges can concern different reward choices.

Historical pledge tiers also belong to their own campaign terms and dates. This guide does not reconstruct an old reward table from snippets or assume an expired offer is still available. If your question concerns an existing pledge, compare your actual reward details with the developer's instructions rather than substituting a current general pre-order listing.

Shipping estimates and release plans are not purchase guarantees

The BackerKit page still displays an estimated September 2025 shipping field. The official FAQ, updated later for the release question, describes Early Access in 2026 and a backer demo before launch. That mismatch makes the old estimate unsuitable as a current promise of when a new order will be playable.

The current Steam page also shows only a planned 2026 year, without an exact date. A displayed price or active pre-order channel does not establish that development is complete or that all platform deliveries have been scheduled. Timing, platform entitlement, and purchase terms need their own confirmation instead of following automatically from the existence of a checkout page.

Console, Mac, and subscription prices remain separate

The older FAQ names PC, Mac, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox as planned platforms. It does not supply a price for each version or establish cross-buy between them. Console-generation choices, Mac delivery, regional console prices, and the relationship between a campaign purchase and a particular storefront entitlement remain pending confirmation in the reviewed material.

The same applies to subscription or cloud access. This research did not establish a Game Pass arrangement, another subscription inclusion, or a guarantee that a future buyer receives multiple platforms. These are distribution terms that need explicit documentation, rather than consequences of an Xbox plan, a Steam feature label, or the broad desktop-and-console description.

Why campaign funding is not a price calculation

The Kickstarter record gives a funding total, a goal, and a backer count for the original campaign. Dividing those numbers would produce an average historical pledge, rather than the retail price of a copy or the value of a particular edition offered today. Campaign support can concern different rewards and amounts, so no such calculation is used here to replace the actual public offer names and displayed prices.

The small difference between the Kickstarter and BackerKit funding totals is another reason to keep each figure attached to its source. It does not justify inventing a fee, exchange-rate adjustment, or pricing rule that neither page explains. For a purchase decision, the relevant evidence remains the particular product description and checkout, while the historical campaign numbers belong in the crowdfunding record rather than a table of current retail prices.

Checking what an offer actually includes

The words digital, backer, or loot sack in an offer name do not independently establish the complete contents of that purchase. Platform keys, access to a demo, physical goods, additional content, and the timing of delivery must come from the actual offer terms or an applicable official clarification. This article intentionally reports the names and displayed amounts without assigning benefits that have not been verified in the reviewed public material.

The same approach applies to optional payment for the itch.io teaser bundle, where the product is artwork rather than a playable game. Paying more or less on that page does not, by itself, establish a different game edition or a future Steam entitlement. Before comparing value across channels, confirm that you are comparing equivalent products; otherwise the apparent cheaper option may simply be a different item that does not answer your original purchasing question.

Comparing the options without mixing products

For a future Steam purchase, the useful current action is to follow the actual store listing until a price is displayed or announced. For a campaign offer, preserve its exact name, currency, and terms when deciding what it provides. For promotional art, use the itch.io package description and do not expect that payment to behave like purchasing the game.

The concise answer is that named BackerKit prices are available while Steam retail pricing remains pending confirmation. The Kickstarter guide explains the campaign history, and the Early Access guide separates access stages from purchase assumptions. None of those sources justifies inventing a launch discount, bonus code, regional amount, or entitlement that the underlying offer does not state.
